Makethecut Home Brew Competition is a competition like no other. 300 entries get whittled down to 2 finalists and the people get to vote their favorite beer, which in turn will be made on a commercial scale and sent out to the masses. Exciting, right? Enjoy our podcast with Jason from Beverage Warehouse as he spells out the entire process from beer submission, to judging, to all the spoils the winner receives!
We also focused on 3 of the contestant entries to hear their story and see just what's brewing. Enjoy!

Jesse and Jay
Meet the men that call themselves Two Dads Brewing. Ever since they heard about the contest, they've been very hard at work, making many small batches, looking for the perfect recipe to submit. They've made a Saison, a Gose, a Tripel; ultimately made 7 brews and chose what they felt their strongest contender was. We'll save what they selected for the event, but easy to say these guys have been very dedicated contestants for Makethecut.
Having brewed together for about 2 years, Jesse and Jay balance a lifestyle of work, brew, and family (not necessarily in that order!). Regardless as to what happens with the contest, you can count on these guys to continue to work together to bust out some seriously tasty beers.
Dusty Gilman
Somewhere up in Highgate, Vermont, is a home brewer trying to live the American Dream. This home brewer is Dusty Gilman. Both talented and humble, Dusty brings a fun spirit to the home brew process. With help from his fiancee Sarah, they make up what friends know as S & D Brewing.
Creating a brewery right in his backyard, you can see there's no joking around. With aspirations to get a 1.5 barrel system to be public facing some day, you can see Dusty is well on his way to that success.
Dusty's selection for Makethecut is his most tried and true home brew. Through friendly feedback and fine tuning over many batches, he thinks his American Amber Ale is ready for the contest. We look forward to hearing more from S & D Brewing!

Brucie Donahue
Brucie, what a class act. She was a delight to interview for our special on the Makethecut Home Brew Competition. She spends her days at Paine Mountain Brewing in Northfield, Vermont, working the tap room and marketing for the company; But she has a few other tricks up her sleeve.
You see, Brucie also brews some serious beer. With aspirations to one day open her own brewery, she hones her craft and share the love by participating in events like International Women's Collaboration Brew Day. When not brewing she is rocking a job as an educational technologist, talk about varied talents!
