It was a beautiful, warm, sunny Saturday afternoon in June. Matt took a trip to Akron, Ohio to visit Hoppin' Frog Brewery for some lunch and to sample some brews.
From the moment you walk in through the doors of the taproom you are met with a welcoming vibe. You are greeted by an employee and offered up a seat of your choice. In my case, I decided to sit at the bar.
Because it was my first visit to Hoppin' Frog, instead of opting for a pint (even though I was there during happy hour, which gets you $1 off any pint you choose) I decided a flight was really my best option. One of the bartenders, John, hooked me up with what he offers as a standard flight for a first timer at Hoppin' Frog:
1. Teeny Tiny Test Batch Motueka
2. Gangster IPA
3. Barrel Aged Silk Porter
4. Boris The Crusher
5. Barrel Aged Doris The Destroyer

In true tourist fashion, I couldn't help but take pictures of my appetizer and meal. I won't go far into the description, as the pictures speak for themselves, but it's easy to say it's some of the best food I've had since moving to Ohio.
After my meal and a great conversation with various Hoppin' Frog staff, I couldn't leave without picking up a couple bottles to bring home. I ended up leaving with 3 different selections based on the suggestions from the staff. I picked up Mean Manalishi DIPA, Hop Heathen Imperial Black IPA, and Boris #200 (batch number 200 of Boris the Crusher Oatmeal Imperial Stout, aged in bourbon barrels 5 times longer than usual).
So when in Akron, check out Hoppin' Frog Brewery, you certainly won't leave disappointed!
